Map of Paris districts to help you choose where to stay
As you can see on the map, the city of Paris is divided into 20 districts or "arrondissements" arranged in a spiral pattern, cut through the middle by the Seine.

Zonas más seguras de París
The zonas más seguras para alojarse en París are those located in the center, in the first districts (1 through 9) along the banks of the Seine River. Because they contain the most important monuments, museums, avenues, and parks of interest, these areas are among the most closely watched in Paris.
The following neighborhoods tend to be very quiet and safe. As is to be expected given their more central location, they also have the most expensive accommodations:
- Saint-Germain-des-Prés – View hotels
- Trocadero – View hotels
- Île de la Cité – View hotels
- Montparnasse – View hotels
If you are looking for an elegant and peaceful setting and don't mind paying a little more, look for accommodations near the Champs-Élysées, the Louvre area and the Place de la Concorde.
Sobre los barrios baratos: the farther you are from the inner ring of the first arrondissements (those closest to the Seine), the more affordable the accommodations will be.
However, in the center you can also find great deals, thanks to the competition among the large number of accommodations located there.
Now, to learn more about each area and our recommendations, we've put together many options for you below.
