What the 2024 Paris Marathon Will Be Like

Just as the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony will introduce many changes and innovations, the marathon at this Olympic event will be no different.
The 42.195 km of the 2024 Paris Marathon will follow a demanding and thrilling route, with 438 meters of negative elevation and a maximum gradient of 13.5% that will challenge all participants in a place so steeped in history.
The men's race will take place on Saturday, August 10, and at least 80 elite athletes are expected to compete in each event.
A Marathon for Everyone
Additionally, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will mark the first time in history that 20,024 free spots will be made available for non-professional athletes to complete the same 42-kilometer Olympic route.
A further 20,024 free spots will be offered for a 10-kilometer circuit sharing the same start and finish as the marathon, but without leaving central Paris. Truly "a marathon for everyone," aiming to include as many participants as possible in the excitement of sport.

After leaving Paris, the route will head to the Palace of Versailles (at kilometer 23), before turning back, skirting the Seine River and crossing its iconic bridges, passing through the Meudon state forest and reaching the Eiffel Tower (at kilometer 38) as the ultimate finish-line backdrop.
How to participate?
You can enter a free spot in the "Marathon for All" at the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games cumpliendo algunos requisitos.
