Grand Palais Paris
Events and exhibitions in a historic building
Grand Palais
ATENCIÓN: While the Grand Palais remains closed for renovations, a temporary structure was inaugurated to host the major events and cultural activities that used to take place in the building. The structure has been installed at the Champ de Mars, just next to the Eiffel Tower.
The Gran Palacio is an impressive historic building in Paris where events and exhibitions are held. It is located alongside the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
Known in French as Grand Palais, Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées or as the Grand Palais des Beaux-Arts.

Its construction began in 1897 and it was the centerpiece of the 1900 Universal Exposition. Its Beaux-Arts style is characteristic of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
What to See at the Grand Palais in Paris
The building is divided into three halls:
La Nef: Here in the nave of the building, major national and international events related to fashion, sports, and celebrations are held.
Galeries Nationales: This area hosts exhibitions of works by prominent artists throughout art history.
Palais de la Découverte: A museum dedicated to science designed for children, with permanent and temporary exhibitions. Recommended for families visiting Paris with kids.
In its basement, the Gran Palacio houses a police station that serves as security to protect the works displayed in the building's galleries and the paintings of the Salón de la Sociedad Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Fashion and Exhibitions
For over 100 years this palace has been the setting for a wide variety of important events, and today its halls showcase everything from vintage cars to fashion designs by the most famous and extravagant French couturiers.

Chanel often holds many fashion shows and spectacles here, with the charm and luxury that this palatial setting lends to its designs and models.
Occasionally important parties and events are held here, and it has even been set up during the dates of christmas a large ice rink.
