In this section, we highlight the most important of these Parisian landmarks.

1. Eiffel Tower
The most visited monument in France and the most visited paid-entry monument in the world. You can spot it from many corners of Paris, but you simply must stand at its feet — and better yet, climb to the top and be moved by the breathtaking view.

2. Notre-Dame Cathedral
Witness to great events in French history, the Catedral de Notre Dame, with its Gothic style and its beautiful statues and stained-glass windows, is another landmark that draws millions of visitors to Paris every year.

3. Hôtel des Invalides
Les Invalides was built in 1670 to care for soldiers wounded in war and to house those who had retired from service. Here you can visit the tumba de Napoleón and several museums: the Army Museum, the Artillery Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary History of Paris.

4. Sacré-Cœur
The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, also known as Sacré Coeur, features architecture inspired by Roman and Byzantine styles and was built in white stone that never loses its brightness.

5. Opéra Garnier
The site that inspired "The Phantom of the Opera", La Opera Garnier de París or Palais Garnier, is breathtaking in its façade and interiors. Its style is Neo-Baroque, and its construction faced several setbacks that, once overcome, paved the way for its inauguration in January 1875.
