Saint-Denis: Basilica and Tomb of Marie Antoinette
Burial site of the Kings of France
Saint Denis
The Basílica de Saint Denis is the burial site of the French monarchy. It is located about 40 minutes from the center of Paris.
It is the primer templo gótico construido en París.

The building rises around the burial site of the first Bishop of Paris and patron of the city, Saint Denis, and opened its doors in the 13th century.
It holds the status of a cathedral, is an abbey, and also bears the title of minor basilica.
The Tomb of Marie Antoinette
Its enormous stained-glass windows give it a luminous appearance, and in its main nave, choir, and crypt, visitors can admire the tumbas de los reales regidores de Francia, príncipes y princesas and important servants of the kingdom, among them Philip IV the Fair, Isabella of Bavaria, and María Antonieta.

During the French Revolution the tombs were desecrated and the royal remains were moved to a mass grave, where they stayed until 1817, at which point those that could be properly identified were returned to their original resting places, while the rest remain kept in the church's crypt.
During spring, several conciertos de música clásica are held to coincide with the feast day of Saint Denis.
