A Brief History of the Bateaux Mouches

Bateaux Mouches is the name of the best-known boat operator in Paris. Their vessels have been so popular since 1917 that most of the river cruises that pass along the Seine are incorrectly called by that name.
Interestingly, as a fun fact, Bateaux Mouches significa “barcos mosca”, translated literally. Although the truth is that its name actually comes from the Mouche district in Lyon, where the boats were originally built in a shipyard.
