Practical information about the Eurostar
Identification
When boarding you will need the ticket and your passport or identity document. If you travel with children, each one will need their own document, even babies.
You need a valid passport to travel between the UK and the EU.
Confirm on the official website of the country you want to travel to if your country of origin is on the list of countries whose citizens need a visa to enter.
We recommend checking in at least 30 minutes before departure or 50 minutes on weekends and holidays.
Children
Children under the age of four travel free with Eurostar , so they do not need a ticket. But you will not have an assigned seat or the possibility of carrying luggage. They must share the place of an adult, although if you want a place for your child under 4 years of age, it is also possible to buy a child ticket.
Children’s tickets (from 4 to 12 years old) have special cheaper rates.
There are changing tables and a café with a children’s menu on board.
Luggage
Luggage has no weight limit, you just have to be able to move with your luggage and accommodate it in the areas designated for it.
- Adults can bring 2 pieces of luggage up to 85cm in length (3 pieces if you have a Business Premier ticket) including backpacks, bags, suitcases or ski equipment and 1 carry-on piece such as a handbag, laptop bag or briefcase.
- Children with a ticket (over 4 years old) can bring 1 piece of luggage up to 85 cm long and a carry-on bag.
You can also send your luggage up to a week before you travel, and then pick it up when you arrive. It will be stored at the baggage office at your destination, but only for 14 days.
Pets
Only guide dogs accredited by the following federations can board the Eurostar: Assistance Dogs (UK) and The International Guide Dog Federation and Assistance Dogs International.
bikes
Folding bikes can be taken on any Eurostar train, as long as they occupy up to 85cm when fully folded. It must be fully covered by a protective case or you will not be able to travel. The rest of the bikes, like other bulky sports items, must be sent with the EuroDespatch service (Between €30 and €45).
