Victor Hugo lived here, in this apartment in the famous Place de Vosges of the Parisian neighborhood of Le Marais, together with his wife for 16 years, in the mid-nineteenth century.

In this 280-square-meter apartment he wrote some of his works, including part of Les Misérables.
A Museum in Place de Vosges
The three-story museum opened in 1902, the centenary of his birth. It houses a collection of graphic works and original manuscripts, as well as photographs, paintings, sculptures, and part of the famous playwright's furniture.

It is located in the Parisian neighborhood of Le Marais, and it is a special place in Paris to visit. Its décor transports you to another era the moment you step inside.
